BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- China Central Television (CCTV), a state-run TV provider, has raised record funds from its prime-time advertising spots for 2013 despite the economic slowdown.
Total sales for its prime-time advertisements next year hit 15.88 billion yuan (2.52 billion U.S. dollars) in Sunday's auction, the highest in the past 19 years, CCTV said late Sunday.
The figure represented an increase of 11.39 percent from a year earlier.
The auction, which is partly seen as an economic barometer in the country, attracted top Chinese enterprises from the brewery, beverage, cosmetics and home appliance sectors.
Four liquor enterprises, including Wuliangye Group, Kweichow Moutai Co., Jiannanchun Group and Fenjiu Group, spent a total of 1.72 billion yuan for spots during the evening news.
