New Year paintings exhibited in Beijing

New Year painting by Ren Helin

An exhibition of Chinese New Year Paintings -“The memory of New Year painting”- was held in Beijing at the National Library of China to display unique art works of a national intangible cultural heritage.

The exhibition was cosponsored by the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and the National Library of China. 120 art works, selected from some 4000 traditional Chinese New Year paintings, were displayed. During the exhibition, the inheritors will show their traditional handicrafts on the spot to help visitors know more about Chinese traditional culture.
