BEIJING, July 9 (ChinaMil) -- The rescue ship "Yongxing Island" of a rescue ship group under the South China Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN), which was conducting training in a sea area of the South China Sea, sent back a piece of news in late June 2013 that with diving equipment, 16 divers succeeded in diving to a depth of 103 meters and completed long-time drill on underwater subjects.

According to group commander Tian Dongsheng, this is the first time for the rescue troops of the PLAN to dive down to a depth of over 100 meters, setting a new diving record.

It is learnt that the diving equipment used during the training features portability, fastness and many divers diving simultaneously from different directions to conduct underwater operations, and it is of important military and engineering application value.
