Concede points in badminton provoked controversy

In the Olympic Games in London, Chinese pair Yu Yang and Wang Xiaoli, who ranked first in the world, frequently and deliberately made mistakes on the court. Consequently, BWF disqualified four pairs of players, including Yu Yang and Wang Xiaoli in participating in the competition. It became a hot topic of all social circles. Chinese “theory of gold medal or nothing” in competitive sports once again became a hot spot. “Event of Conceding Points” more or less cast a shadow over Chinese badminton team’s brilliant results of winning all the five gold medals. It’s undeniable that negative competition itself did great harm to this sport.
