World Cup barrel racing opens in China

The 2013 IBHF World Cup barrel racing opened here on Monday, drawing 100 riders from 24 countries and regions.

It was the first World Cup barrel racing event held in China, said Chinese equestrian chief Shen Lihong.

Barrel racing is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider attempt to complete a clover-leaf pattern around barrels in the fastest time.
